Small Town Romance in The Cornish Christmas Book Club

Review of The Cornish Christmas Book Club

The Cornish Christmas Book Club was a book that reminded me a lot of Virgin River: a small town, many characters who all interact and know each other, and multiple relationships playing out.

In this second installment of the series (I have not read the first) Tamara learns that she’s losing her job at the Rusty Anchor pub in Penworthal, Cornwall. At the same time, there’s a newcomer in town (isn’t there always?) Gage is a hunky ex-military guy who is opening a bookstore. Somehow in the marketing this translated into “enemies to lovers” but it didn’t read that way.

The Cornish Christmas Book Club Had:

  • A cozy small town UK setting
  • Multiple relationships playing out at once
  • A second chance romance between a woman with adult children and a soldier who has retired from the military
  • Publication date: October 22, 2025 by Joffe/Choc Lit. Thanks so much to them for the advance review copy.

this christmas romance is Perfect For:

Those who want a closed door romance, a cozy small town setting, and a book that feels like Virgin River. I hadn’t read the first book in the series, but I recommend you do, as you will understand the back story of the book club and its members.
