• John Q was a 2002 film about a desperate father
• In 2004, 21 Grams starrting Sean Penn was nominate for two Oscars
• Mended Hearts, a 2005  episode of The Ghost Whisperer. 
• My Sister’s Keeper had a movie adaptation in 2009

In the 2020s, we had

• In the 2018 K-drama Cross, there were two characters who had a heart transplanted. 
• The 2026 summer romance The Last Kiss of Summer by Jessica Kelleman.
