Fall Into Belzhar!

Today marks the start of the Fall Into Belzhar event, and I’m excited to be participating!  Kicking off the event will be a Twitter chat today between author @MegWolitzer and @MundieMoms.

In the book, which comes out  September 30, a teenage girl named Jam is sent to a “therapeutic boarding school” after a terrible loss. She’s then accepted into a highly sought-after class called Special Topics in English, in which her teacher, Mrs. Quenell, gives each class member a red leather journal that they are instructed to write in.

A group of bloggers – including me – will be tweeting, tumblr-ing and Instagramming peeks at our own mysterious journals:

Here’s the book’s synopsis from Goodreads:

If life were fair, Jam Gallahue would still be  at home in New Jersey with her sweet British  boyfriend, Reeve Maxfield. She’d be watching  old comedy sketches with him. She’d be kissing  him in the library stacks. She certainly wouldn’t be at The Wooden Barn, a therapeutic boarding school in rural Vermont, living with a weird roommate, and signed up for an exclusive, mysterious class called Special Topics in English. But life isn’t fair, and Reeve Maxfield is dead. Until a journal-writing assignment leads Jam to Belzhar, where the untainted past is restored, and Jam can feel Reeve’s arms around her once again. But there are hidden truths on Jam’s path to reclaim her loss.

I’ll be reviewing the book closer to publication date, but I love the fact that it *slaps hand over mouth*
Until then, you’ll have to read my journal to find out…

  1. This is certainly an original idea in promoting a book! It's much more interactive and sounds like a lot of fun! And I just followed you on twitter! Yay! Looking forward to your tweets, that mysterious journal is definitely intruiging 🙂

  2. THIS IS SO FREAKISHLY COOL!!! I love it when tours (maybe tour is the wrong word for this though??) are done differently. ^-^ And I have to admit, I love journals. I have a collection, hehe, but I never write in them because I like them too much. 😉 Can't wait for your review! I have this one for review too and I'm excited about it!

  3. I love this idea! Definitely will be creeping on your Instagram waiting to find out more 😉 The synopsis is a little creepy, but I think that's what's so appealing to me!
