Sunflower Season by Danica Nava
If you’re looking for a sweet and spicy small town, second chance romance, check out this new fall title!
June Walker has made it: a studio in San Francisco and a marketing job at a tech company. But her anxiety has her spiraling and her boss is totally toxic.
So when she learns that her grandparents’ farm in Love County Oklahoma is up for auction, she dramatically quits, buys the farm, and is back in the orbit of her high school nemesis and her first love, Noah Abbott.
I loved watching June navigate small town life, get her sunflower farm up and running, and navigate life as a new influencer (a way to fund repairs on the farm.)
She’s made an enemy in the land developer she outbid for the farm, which adds some tension to the plot.
What did I enjoy about Sunflower Season?
June was a relatable character who had faced hardships in her life. After a dramatic work showdown against a guy taking credit for her work, she decides to re-imagine her entire life.
Sunflower Season was such a sweet story with a few medium spice open door scenes.
Sunflower Season had:
- A small town Oklahoma setting on Chickasaw Nation land
- A second chance at love romance
- Dual POV (though mostly June’s POV)
- A medium spice level that should work for most readers.
- Publication date: November 3, 2026 by Berkley. Thanks so much to them for the advance review copy.
Sunflower is Perfect For:
- Readers who love a second chance romance between characters who have loved each other since their teen years.
- Fans of books about reinvention and finding a life you love.
