I can’t even tell you how excited I am about these two books:

Kirsten Miller is the author of The Eternal Ones YA series published by Razorbill and the Kiki Strike middle grade series published by Bloomsbury. I’m  a huge fan of her work and I can’t wait to read this.
Here’s the blurb:

Robin Benway wrote Audrey, Wait! — which I raved about in my “I’m With the Band” roundup post — and also The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May and June. I love her books!
Here’s the scoop on this one:

Being a 16-year-old safecracker and active-duty daughter of international spies has its moments, good and bad. Pros: Seeing the world one crime-solving adventure at a time. Having parents with super cool jobs. Cons: Never staying in one place long enough to have friends or a boyfriend. But for Maggie Silver, the biggest perk of all has been avoiding high school and the accompanying cliques, bad lunches, and frustratingly simple locker combinations.
Then Maggie and her parents are sent to New York for her first solo assignment, and all of that changes. She’ll need to attend a private school, avoid the temptation to hack the school’s security system, and befriend one aggravatingly cute Jesse Oliver to gain the essential information she needs to crack the case . . . all while trying not to blow her cover.

This one sounds like Heist Society meets Gossip Girl! I’m so up for that. Sometimes I really need a break from the dystopian gloom and doom.

  3. Ha…having the same problem with Penguin/Razorbill. 🙁 I'd seen How to Lead a Life of Crime but didn't pay it much attention. Now I MUST read it. It sounds fun and exciting and just…yeah, I have to read it now. Thanks. 😛

  4. I think I got both of these two (Penguin rejected a bunch of mine too-hearing that from you makes me feel so much better). I did not connect the two names but I really liked the first Kiki Strike book so that makes me more excited about this one. I also loved The Extraordinary Secrets…

    I have How to Lead a Life of Crime on my TBR list too, but this is the first time I have seen the cover. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to go request it and see if I can break my 'Penguin Decline' streak:)

  20. I'm reading Black Heart right now, and now I wanna read How to Lead a Life of Crime! These crime books are really entertaining. 😉 (Now I just hope i wont turn into a mobster when I grow up, lol!) And I LOVED Heist Society, so I might like Also Known As too. Awesome picks!
