Favorite YA Books of 2012: Small Town Royalty, Love and Loss

Back in 2012, I reviewed two books on small town royalty:

Downton Abby also premiered in the US in fall 2010 and that quickly trickled down to YA Historicals becoming more popular. 

In May 2012 I reviewed three YA historicals that ranged from the fun and frothy to the dark and gritty: 

Wentworth Hall by Abby Graeme
Gilt by Katherine Longshore 
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein.

  1. Oooh, The Golden Lily! Awesome:) And Hourglass and Tokyo Heist were both great! Have fun at the beach over Memorial Day weekend, I think my family will be at the ballpark for a tournament those days!

    1. I know — I was so surprised when the bookstore emailed me.

      I always think I'm taking too many books, but I always run out. There can be traffic, and I have to sit in back with the dog. I'll let you know if I read them all!

    1. Ha ha — you guys can make fun of me all you want but you'll be surprised at how much I can read over a weekend. There can be traffic on the way to the beach, and I have to sit in back with the dog.

  5. Oh your lucky I am dying to read Such A Rush. Please tell me how awesome it is when you are done. I have a few books that you have in your pile. Deadly Cool and Starcrossed. I hope these will be great as well.

  6. my weekend was… blah. i slept all day saturday.. and then u know some of what i did sunday. but then slept some more after the twitter party. ugh. im such a lazy bum.

  7. WOW, that's a lot of book to take to the beach. I tried reading at the beach but I got distracted because of the noise. I can't really concentrate on reading if my surrounding is really noisy.
