In My Mailbox 10

For more info on IMM click here.  In My Mailbox was started as a YA book blog feature by The Story Siren in November 2009. Haul videos are nothing new; fashionistas have been posting them on YouTube since at least 2007.

I bought two books this week:
Breath of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont
Not That Kind of Girl by Siobhan Vivian

Then I got the happy news that I’d been approved for these on NetGalley:

The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long
Dark Frost by Jennifer Estep
Breaking Beautiful by Jennifer Shaw Wolfe

Huge thanks to Dial/Penguin Young Readers, KTeen and Bloomsbury!

Finally, one from the library, Bewitched by Alex Flinn.

Yesterday I went to volunteer — I sorted mountains of books so that teachers and librarians at underfunded public schools could come and pick out things for their students.
Here’s the pile of books I donated:

Here’s a photo of the event. It was crazy. I spent three hours sorting mountains of books: board, picture, chapter, YA.

The most fun was hand-selling the YA — some of the participants weren’t all that familiar with current YA fiction, so I was suggesting stuff that I thought reluctant readers might like. Zombies! Sword fighting!

What’s new on your TBR pile this week?

You got some great books and you spread the love and donated some great books, that's awesome:) So all your commenter's are raving about The Treachery of Beautiful Things, and I haven't heard of it, I'm going to check it out on Goodreads right now! 1. *hides face* Embarrassed to say I had never heard of The Treachery of Beautiful things but loved the cover and the description sounded right up my alley. I'm excited! But I think it's my ARC that comes out last of all of them, so I'll wait to read it.

  5. I liked Beastly so am excited to read more about Kendra. I was surprised to learn that the book is separate stories, not a novel. So I'm not sure how I feel about that!

  6. I've had my eye on Breaking Beautiful for awhile. If definitely is on my TBR list.

I am super SUPER behind on my reading, so much so that I actually had to take two books back to the library today because my time was up and someone else had a hold on them. Sigh. But I did get to enjoy Bookfest at my library, my son got to read with Wags For Hope, and he picked up some great books for his TBR list!

  7. Ohh I also received The Treachery of Beautiful Things! I'm really excited although I have to wait awhile to read it since I'm so behind on my review books. Bewitching also sounds great. WOW you donated a ton of books! Good for you. I try to donate back things I will not be re-reading.

  8. A BREATH OF EYRE and THE TREACHERY OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS top my wish list this week.

Introducing people to new genres & authors is brilliant. This is why I love reading blogs. My reading world has exploded.

  9. Not That Kind of Girl was such a fun book to read. I especially loved Connor he was such a sweety. Breath of Eyre and The Treachery of Beautiful Things are definitely two books I can't wait to read. I think Treachery more because it's been in my TBR list much longer.
