Review of Sparks Fly by Hazel Henry

The cutest YA cousin romance set at a lake in the Catskills. Plus a three way love story; no not THAT kind! Three cousins, three romance plots!)

Sparks Fly is a new May YA romance featuring sisters Georgia and Daisy and their cousin Eden. All of them gather at Laurel Lake, a place Georgia and Daisy haven’t been since the death of their father a few years back.

This book managed to get in a LOT: three romance plots, a grief plot, and the individual issues each girl was facing, things like boyfriend troubles, confusing breakups, friends that might be more, and decisions about their futures.

Georgia and Eden are college bound in the fall, and Daisy is a little younger. Georgia has a boyfriend and lots of plans, Eden had a very confusing breakup she’s still reeling from, and Daisy has a close friend. Is he just a friend? She’s not sure.

I loved that the girls had summer jobs, Georgia as a lifeguard and Daisy in a restaurant at the local tennis club. And each girl had emotional issues to work through (I’ll leave those for you to discover.)
