I love a good celebrity romance and have found a new favorite!
It reminded me a little of another recent favorite, The Reunion by Kayla Olson. Both books feature co-stars who were romantically involved, broke up and then were brought together by a cast reunion.
Scarlett is on the top of her acting game when she gets a call about returning to Seafolly, South Carolina, the filming location of The Lost Letter. This soapy historical romance was Scarlett’s very first acting job, the role that brought her both passion and heartbreak with her co-star Ryder.
Like The Reunion, Star-Crossed Summer does a great job of creating both the world of the film and the rocky romance between Scarlett and Ryder. I loved how (minor) miscommunication was a theme in both the film’s fictional romance and the books “real” one.
The big question: can Scarlett and Ryder put the past behind them, or will seeing each other again lead to even more heartbreak???
The book is mostly from Scarlett’s POV and features a Then/Now narrative that flashes back and forth ten years. There are a couple of medium spicy open door love scenes.

- Themes of forgiveness and learning from life’s mistakes
