We We Were Liars Show: When, Where What?
Here’s all I know about the We Were Liars series so far, but I will update this post as we know more.
We Were Liars by e. lockhart was originally published in 2014. The book is a psychological suspense story about a girl, Cadence Sinclair, her friends, and her wealthy family who summer on a private island.
Here’s my review of We Were Liars from back in 2014!
Back then, I wrote:
We Were Liars is the kind of book that will keep you wondering what exactly is going on, and after you find out, wondering what you should think about it.
The timeline is confusing at times, perhaps deliberately so. Cadence, the narrator, can’t always remember what’s happening or has happened and isn’t sure why she can’t remember. I loved the way that the writing reflects her mental state — cagey and vague at times, and over the top at other times.
This devious little book won’t be for everyone — I was reading it at the same time as a friend who was not pleased with it — but I loved it.
Is We Were Liars a standalone book?
Yes, but the author wrote two other books in the same story universe>
A Family of Liars (2022), a prequel novel about the Sinclairs in the 1980s.
There will be another We Were Liars book, We Fell Apart, which will be released in November 2025.
