You Make it Feel Like Christmas: Holiday Hockey Romance
You Make it Feel Like Christmas by Sophie Sullivan is a Christmas Romance and a Holiday Hockey Romance new in 2025. How does it measure up in romance, holiday spirit, and spice? I’m here to reveal all!

Review of You Make it Feel Like Christmas by Sophie Sullivan
Maisie Smart is a talented photographer who doesn’t let her dyslexia get in the way of her work or her life. Nick King is a hockey player trying to get back in the game after a knee injury.
The story, set in Washington state, starts six months after these two had a one night stand (which became a one night stand after Nick disappeared and ghosted Maisie). But she still can’t stop thinking about him.
Christmas is coming and Maisie is spending the week at the Tickle Tree Farm (sorry, that makes me laugh every time) with her extended family, which includes her sister Natalie.
Nick, meanwhile, is visiting his sister Ellie and her young son Asher.
Will these two rekindle their romance? Will Maisie find out why Nick vanished without a word? Can Nick learn to manage his anxiety? Who will win the Christmas Scavenger Hunt?
While You Make it Feel Like Christmas is technically a standalone romance and can be read that way, it also features cameos by characters from Can’t Help Falling in Love and A Guide to Just Being Friends (thanks to Sam from We Live and Breathe Books for this info!)
You Make It Feel Like Christmas Had:
- A hot yet sensitive hockey player love interest
- Anxiety and dyslexia rep
- A “one night stand” leads to love plot
- A good amount of holiday cheer
- Some not-too-explicit open door scenes
- Publication date: September 23, 2025 by St. Martin’s Griffin. Thanks so much to them for the advance review copy.
You Make It Feel Like Christmas Is Perfect For:
Hockey and sports romance fans; those who have read Sullivan’s other books and want to see beloved characters again.
