A Merry Little Lie
A Merry Little Lie by Sarah Morgan is a sweet Christmas story with several romantic subplots involving the Balfour family. Is this chaotic but sweet holiday story right for you?

Review of A Merry Little Lie
This isn’t a traditional romance with one couple falling in love. It follows the many members of the Balfour family (mom Jennifer, her husband Martin, their adult son Jamie and his new wife Hayley, their adult twins Becky and Rosie, Rosie’s husband Declan, and Becky’s possible crush Will.)
Each member of the family has some sort of worry, secret, or both. Jennifer is concerned with her husband’s transition to retirement. Rosie thinks her husband is distant. Hayley is eager to be accepted by her husband’s family. Becky is annoyed to be stuck driving with Will after a cancelled flight. Or is she?
A Merry Little Lie Had:
- A charming setting in Northern England
- A multi-generational cast
- Two romances with love scenes (open door but not explicit)
- A good deal of humor
- Publication date: October 8, 2025 by Canary Street/Harlequin. Thanks so much to them for the advance review copy.
A Merry Little Lie is Perfect For:
Readers who want something less “romance-y” and/or enjoy reading about chaotic family holidays with a little romance on the side.
