Review of The Holiday Honeymoon Switch
Holiday Honeymoon Switch by Julia McKay had me excited from the beginning with a premise that reminded me of a favorite movie, The Holiday! (You know the movie where Kate Winslet swaps her cozy British cottage for Cameron Diaz’s glam and modern Los Angeles house and they each fall in love?)
In this book, bride-to-be Holly is dumped by her fiancé right before the wedding. He urges her to go on their honeymoon alone. She and her best friend Ivy have another plan: Holly will take Ivy’s quaint Hudson Valley rental, while Ivy will head off on Holly’s Hawaiian honeymoon.
I was surprised at first by the somewhat low ratings of this one, as I thought it started strong.
But I think that putting two full romances in one book was a lot. One of them had to be fairly instalove and I think both of them suffered a bit. Everything felt a little rushed.
Holiday Honeymoon Switch Had:

- A really sweet friendship
- Two romances in one, each with some not-too-explicit open door scenes
