The Shippers by Katherine Center

The Shippers by Katherine Cener. A guy and a girl with a ring buoy on a bright background

Wedding Setting: a Caribbean cruise ship

Publication date: May 19, 2026 by St. Martins Press

Steamy or Sweet? Sweet! I have not read this yet, but Katherine Center’s books usually have a light spice level. Check back after I finish reading.

The Shippers is set aboard a cruise ship during a destination wedding. JoJo Burton ropes in her childhood best friend Cooper Watts as her wedding wingman to help her pursue her first crush. Shipboard antics, slow-dance moments, fake flirting, and forced proximity make this a perfect summer comfort read.

My review of The Shippers is coming soon!

I enjoyed this one a lot! If you love ensemble romantic comedies like Love, Actually, this one is for you.

Note: the wedding isn’t the center of this story. It’s more a romance about helping a loved one heal from serious trauma. But I highly recommend it!

A hilarious, warm, enemies-to-lovers fake-relationship rom-com with a wonderful Mexican-American family at its heart — this is the book that made Christina Lauren a household name for romance fans.

The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts

Clips of the covers of The Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts

  • Visions in White
  • Bed of Roses
  • Savor the Moment
  • Happy Ever After

Setting: Connecticut

Publication date: 2009–2010

Steamy or Sweet? Light to medium open door spice.

If you want a wedding romance series to sink into, the Bride Quartet is a classic for a reason. Four childhood best friends (Mac, Emma, Laurel, and Parker) grow up to run Vows, a successful wedding planning company in Connecticut.

Each book tells the love story of one of the partners. Mac the photographer finds love with a sweet English teacher; Emma the florist discovers feelings for her closest male friend; baker Laurel falls for the man she’s crushed on since childhood; and type-A planner Parker meets her match in a motorcycle-riding bad boy. Each book stands alone, but reading all four together is perfection for fans of friendship-centered women’s fiction with romance at the heart.

  1. I actually read and enjoyed most of these. I just finished The Shippers this morning, and as expected (because it’s a Center book), LOVED IT! Cooper was such a gem. How did she not understand his actions were all acts of love????
